What Studio City Athletes Are Saying

Real results from active adults and athletes who refused to sit on the sideline.

Dylan really helped me with my hip — I felt like he understood the problem and came up with a progression of exercises over several weeks to improve my strength. He also looked into an issue I was having with soreness in my calf / shin splints. After every session, he sent videos of each exercise and a spreadsheet to keep me accountable. He is great at answering questions and is super knowledgeable. Highly recommend!

Working with Dylan was great - I’ve seen many PTs before for various injuries, but he really has a refreshing approach that changed how I think about pain in my body for the better. He is very passionate and knowledgeable, a great listener, and has a solid system for assigning exercises / tracking progress. I’ll definitely be back the next time I have a challenging flare up, I know he’ll help me navigate and get through. Thanks Dylan!

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before your first visit at Lange Sports Medicine & Physical Therapy.

Do I need a doctor's referral to start physical therapy in California?

California allows direct access to physical therapy for up to 45 days without a physician referral. That means you can schedule a free phone consult and get your evaluation started right away without waiting on a doctor's appointment first. If a referral becomes necessary for your situation, we can help guide you through that process.

How long are sessions and how often will I need to come in?

Every session is a full 55 minutes, one-on-one with your physical therapist, no techs, no aides, no handoffs to someone else. Most people start with one to two visits per week and then adjust based on how they are progressing and what their schedule allows. We build your plan of care around your training, not the other way around.

Will I have to stop training or playing my sport while I'm in PT?

Our goal is to keep you training, not sideline you. For most active adults and athletes, smart and modified training is part of the rehab process. We'll work with your current routine and adjust loads or intensity where needed, but stopping completely is rarely the approach we take.

Do you accept insurance?

We are a cash-based practice, which means we work directly with you rather than through insurance billing. We accept cash, credit card, HSA, and FSA. We can also provide a superbill after your visit if you'd like to submit for potential out-of-network reimbursement through your insurance provider.

What should I expect at my first appointment?

Your first visit is a thorough evaluation. We'll assess how you move, review your history, and make sure you leave with a clear understanding of what's going on and a plan of care tailored to your goals. Come dressed in athletic clothes you can move in, and if you're dealing with a running-related issue, bring your training shoes.
